A few years into managing a portfolio of short-term rentals in the Gulf, we hit the same wall every operator hits. The booking engine didn't talk to the calendar. The calendar didn't talk to the cleaners. The cleaners didn't talk to the accountant. The accountant was a spreadsheet.
We tried the big PMSs. They were great at one or two things and underwhelming at everything else. None of them understood the actual mathematics of owner statements — the cash-vs-accrual decision, the multi-owner properties, the per-booking commission overrides, the prior-period adjustments. Most of them were US-centric: no Bayut, no Property Finder, no WhatsApp.
So we built our own. Then operators around us started asking if they could use it. Then we realized the platform we'd built for ourselves was actually the platform a lot of operators were asking for — one that takes the operational craft of short-term rentals seriously.
